Preparation for the tour

Even if you like to hike often in summer. In winter, it's still a different story and can challenge even experienced hikers. The right preparation is therefore the most important thing.

If you are completely new to the sport, it is important that you train your strength and endurance in particular before your vacation. It doesn't have to be a lot, 2-3 times a week for 45 minutes each is enough. If you are concerned, you can start with short hikes in the summer. This way you can slowly get your body used to this type of exercise and your cardiovascular system will also benefit.

Tip: Hike even in bad weather so that you can check the suitability of your equipment at the same time.

Balanced nutrition for strength and vitality

The right nutrition

A balanced diet with the right amount of protein, good fats and carbohydrates is provided by legumes, nuts and seeds as well as fruit, vegetables, pasta, wholemeal bread and potatoes. These are optimal energy suppliers and give the body enough reserves for long tours.

At our breakfast buffet you can compose your own hiking snack before each tour.

Have you thought of everything?

Attention: The route should be perfectly adapted and planned to your level. Dangerous sections should also be avoided, especially in winter, so that there is no risk of being buried by an avalanche.

Before you start your tour, it is important that you check the weather forecast again. Sometimes things can change overnight that you need to be aware of.

It is not important who finishes first. Take breaks so that you don't push your body too hard.

Your body needs enough fluids during the hike. It is important that you take something with you to quench your thirst as well as to ward off the cold. A cup of tea can protect your body from cooling down if you have to stay out in the cold for a long time.

In addition to enough provisions , you should also take some try clothes with you to change. Wearing wet clothing can cool the body down just as much, even though it is in constant motion. The result is an unwanted cold.

And last but not least: Don't forget why you are here!

Enjoy the idyllic winter landscape, the snow-covered mountains and the breathtaking silence of nature. That shouldn't be a problem if you are well prepared.

Hiking tours should be well planned
